The rE 2.0 Eve (24” frontlit RLCD) is true 8-bit. Our other 32" monitors are 6-bit + FRC.

Theoretically, the frontlights used on Dawn and Eve are a lot gentler than a backlight since they don't shine directly into your eyes. However, we can't predict how they will affect you since everyone’s needs are different.

Yes! Our frontlights use DC Dimming to adjust brightness, making them flicker-free and easier on the eyes compared to PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). DC Dimming works by directly adjusting the voltage to control brightness, while PWM rapidly turns the frontlight on and off at high frequencies. Some users may experience eye strain from PWM flickering, especially at lower brightness levels, but DC Dimming eliminates this issue for a more comfortable viewing experience.

The brightness of the frontlights on the Dawn and Eve Monitors are fully adjustable, so you can set it to your preferred brightness level (or off!).

Due to the unique structure of RLCD pixels, resolution is inversely proportional to display reflectivity. The higher the resolution, the . Each pixel consists of a mirror, a transistor, and a 10um transparent gap surrounding the mirror. We chose HD resolution for our 32" panels because it achieved the right resolution-reflectivity balance for our target outdoor digital signage market. As we branched out into computer monitors, we've had increased requests for higher resolutions. We do anticipate higher resolutions will be achieved with this technology in the future.

All Sun Vision Display products are covered by a 1-year Manufacturer's Warranty covering defects and damage caused by the manufacturer. If an issue falls under warranty, we’ll repair or replace the defective item or part at no cost to you. For more details, visit our Manufacturer's Warranty Page.

For our rE Monitors, we also offer optional 2-year or 3-year extended warranty coverage for added peace of mind.

Probably! We currently ship to the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and most of Europe. Shipping is free within the UK and USA. If you're outside the U.S. or U.K., you'll need to email us for a custom shipping quote at sales@sunvisiondisplay.com. 

Ground shipping is FREE within the United Kingdom and the contiguous United States. For countries outside of the USA and UK, please contact us directly at sales@sunvisiondisplay.com for a shipping quote.

No. For international shipments, the customer is responsible to pay import customs and duties. Generally the carrier notifies you of the charges and offers payment options to complete the shipment.  Unfortunately, we can't estimate these charges in advance of shipment. 

Our standard lead time on rE Monitors is 6-8 weeks, however we will do everything we can to fulfill your order sooner. 

Our Outdoor Signage products are in early production and typically require some application-specific customizations. The lead time is generally 8-12 weeks. However, RUSH options are available for small quantities.

Large-format color RLCD monitors are relatively new to the market. Originally developed for Outdoor Signage, , we expanded our RLCD tech into the computer monitor space in response to the overwhelming interest from people like you (read the backstory). As with most emerging technologies, the initial price point reflects the cost of product development and early manufacturing. However, as production scales and demand increases, prices are expected to decrease. We’re incredibly grateful to our early adopters for supporting and shaping the future of this innovation!

Outdoor Digital Signage

When considering Outdoor Digital Signage, it's important to distinguish between initial cost and total cost of ownership.

Some components of Reflective LCD Technology carry a higher upfront cost due to their advanced design. However, these initial expenses translate into long-term savings. Our Reflective LCDs are up to 95% more energy efficient than other outdoor signage technologies, significantly reducing power consumption. Additionally, since RLCDs don’t rely on a backlight, there’s no LED decay, meaning they last much longer and require less frequent replacements.
