Let’s take a look at how some real-life venues are using LCD technology to better serve their visitors. One such example can be found at Arlington International Race Track, in Arlington Heights, IL. This race track uses LCD screens of all kinds, some near its entryway and others near the ticket stands to help guide park visitors either to their seats, to the betting locales, or even to designated areas where they can view the horses before a race. There are even monitors in the luxury boxes, which take that horse and jockey (which you otherwise might need binoculars to see) and bring them up close in full HD detail. You get the best of both worlds – being a spectator at a live event and making sure you don’t miss any of the action, including instant replays and slow motion highlights.

Displays are Everywhere at Sporting Events
Perhaps you’ve noticed LCD panels popping up in sporting and recreational environments. In sports arenas, for example, it’s a common sight – not just large scoreboards, but also individual kiosks near concession stands and in lobby areas. They are nearly everywhere: on the walls, in hallways and situated between players and fans, each displaying game scores, instant replays, announcements, and advertising.
You may also see LCDs near course entrances or near tee boxes. Such displays are useful for displaying weather updates, flag location and distance, wind speed and direction, and even offering suggestions to golfers as to which club(s) they should use for a particular hole. You may even notice outdoor LCDs at beaches or public swimming areas, advising visitors about local rules or hazardous conditions. Or, providing advertisers a means to access specific target audiences.
